Producer, Distributor
Larry Meistrich
Nehst Studios

Larry stumbled into film as an extra and was soon funding his first feature film (Sling Blade) via American Express. He hired Billy Bob Thornton to star and direct it, received the largest fee ($10 million from Miramax) for an independent film at a film market at that time, and ended up being the recipient of an Academy Award for his efforts.
Larry was part of the team that created one of the first independent film studios. The Shooting Gallery (1991-2001) provided a creative space for aspiring filmmakers in New York that produced many notable filmmakers and films which garnered Meistrich even more recognition and awards, including 'Sling Blade', 'You Can Count On Me', 'Laws of Gravity', 'Strangeland', 'Niagra Niagra' and others. He went on to create Nehst Studios, a film production and distribution company that has helped over 140 films find their audiences.
